This design of this rug is heavily influenced by the seventeenth century Caucasian weavers that were making the rustic version of Persian workshop carpets. Sometimes this is called a 'Dragon' rug, because of it's intricate loopy motifs and other times, it's known as the 'S' rug. Modern reproductions and motifs have since been added since the seventeenth century, making this rug a classic and one that hasn't gone out of fashion since.
